Quickly jumping to an Excel worksheet

To quickly jump to an Excel worksheet of your choice:

  • Right-click on the worksheet tab scroll buttons.

  • Select the sheet of your choice from the menu.

Forcing new lines within worksheet cell entries (97/2000/2002)

Excel is capable of storing large amounts of text data in a cell, but you most likely don't find the information readable when it's in a long string. If you'd prefer that information within a cell be broken onto multiple lines, you can manually insert line breaks to do exactly that. To do so:

  • Press [Alt]+[Enter] and your insertion point moves down to a new line.

This works both when you're entering in the formula bar or directly in a cell.

Sorting columns horizontally (97/2000/2002)

  • Click on any cell from the range that you want to sort.

  • From the Data menu, click Sort.

  • Click on the Option button in the Sort dialog box.

  • Under Orientation, select "Sort left to right."

  • Click OK.

Now, simply make any changes you want in the Sort dialog box and your columns will now be sorted horizontally.
