Microsoft Official Curriculum Courses 2005

 Back to Main Index

As many of you are aware over the last 3 years The Quill Consultancy has listened carefully to your training needs and customised Microsoft Official Curriculum courses where required. This has proven to be a win-win for all parties as it has enabled us to deliver more focussed training over less time which has benefited clients with less expensive training and staff extracted from work places for less time.

During 2005 it is intended to continue this practice but The Quill Consultancy will be tending to focus on current Microsoft products including:

  • Microsoft Windows XP

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000

  • .NET development courses (on request)

Minimum  Numbers

A reminder about minimum numbers for training to proceed on this basis.

  • For infrastructure courses where the trainer is from Quill, a minimum of two people are required.

  • For infrastructure courses where the trainer is sourced from our training partners on the mainland, generally five or six people are required.

  • For development courses a minimum of three people where training resources are internal to the Quill and 6 to 8 where the resources are external to the Quill.

Where possible we endeavour to match similar clients together in the same course if this is appropriate as it makes training opportunities more viable.

In general terms The Quill Consultancy will be offering the following courses during 2005:

Windows XP

  • Course 2272 – typically over two or three days

Windows Server 2003

  • Course 2273 – typically over three days

  • Course 2279 – typically over three days

Exchange Server 2003

  • Course 2400 – typically over 3 ½ or 4 days depending on whether an upgrade from Exchange 5.5 is required by the client

SQL Server 2000

  • Course 2071 – over the recommended two days

  • Course 2072 – over four days

  • Course 2073 – over three or four days

Development Courses

  • All courses – as per client requirements

We are able to offer courses in "older" technology if course material is still available from Microsoft. However it is highly likely that if requested to conduct courses in say Windows 2000 or VB 6.0 the client making the request will be the only one interested.

We often get clients with training requests with short timeframes. We will do our best to meet the timeframes requested by our clients but be aware that the purchase of courseware from Microsoft usually takes 10 working days and that under normal circumstances we need 4 to 6 weeks notice to schedule a course with an appropriate trainer.

Pricing for most courses can be easily calculated as we charge $473 (inc GST) per person per day. The exception to this pricing might be in the circumstance where more than one piece of courseware needs to be purchased.

We have scheduled the following courses for the first four months of next year:
