Last month Microsoft made available to
all customers of Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server the Intelligent Message
Filter as free add-on to assist controlling spam. To download and to get further information please visit http://www.microsoft.com/exchangeThe Quill Consultancy installed and configured the Intelligent Message Filter in 10 minutes last week and it has stopped approximately 90% of all the spam that we where receiving. Prior to this we had only controlled spam at an individual user level through the use of rules in Outlook. We adopted a middle of the road approach to the configuration of the Intelligent Message Filter to test for any false positives (messages that are treated as spam but are not spam). With over 700 messages filtered out as spam we have not had a single false positive. In the coming weeks we will be tighten the security further to see how effective the Intelligent Message Filter is against our remaining 10% of spam. We are very impressed with this technology!!!!
