.NET Essentials – 5 days from Monash.Net

The Quill Consultancy has entered into a partnership arrangement with Australia’s leading experts of .NET technologies at Monash.Net. We are delighted to be offering Monash.Net 5 day .NET Essentials course in Hobart on in the week commencing 23 September 2002.

As the name suggests, Monash.NET will teach you and your developers all the essential elements you require for building commercial grade .Net applications. You will come away, with all the skills necessary to immediately begin developing in .Net.

Monash.NET has nearly 4 years direct involvement with Microsoft & their .Net technology, from product life cycle research and development through to early adopter implementations. Our ongoing participation includes involvement with the ECMA standards body, the compact framework development team, and many compiler and parser developments. We also conducted many deliveries of Microsoft's own Official .Net Curriculum (MOC) following its release late 2001, before developing our own .Net Essentials and Industrial Strength .NET training courses.

As the list below highlights, Microsoft’s MOC offerings, whilst many in number and duplicated across most subjects, providing no complete and succinct "whole of technology" approach in one course. So even after doing any 2 or 3 MOC courses, you will still be missing exposure to and understanding of key elements of the .Net platform that are all covered in our single .NET ESSENTIALS course.

  • .NET ESSENTIALS will deliver at least twice the practical and relevant skills compared with any single MOC course over the equivalent period of time.

  • Monash.NET courses are designed and presented by their own .Net experts, who rank among the most authoritative and respected .Net Thought Leaders worldwide. To check out their credentials click here.

  • The trainers, whilst professional and polished presenters, are also highly experienced developers, so they can easily address any project or technology specific questions you may have, all of which maximises your learning outcomes.

  • The courses incorporate many "hands on" labs to reinforce the concepts introduced

  • They are not seminar talk fests.

    • As far as possible, they directly address formal Microsoft accreditation requirements.

    • All demonstrations and labs have been developed using the latest release version of Visual Studio.NET.

We all know that the biggest cost of training is the lost productivity while you are in class. So why do multiple MOC courses spanning weeks and weeks to get all your .Net skills, or worse still, learn by trial and error over months and months, when you can do a Monash.NET courses in 5 days or less.

The .NET ESSENTIALS curriculum and class pack is a compilation of, and covers all essential principles from, the following MOC courses.

    • 2559 Introduction to VB.Net Programming - 5 days

    • 2609 Introduction to C# Programming with MS .NET - 5 days

    • 2373 Programming with Microsoft VB.Net - 5 days

    • 2124 Introduction to C# for the MS .NET platform - 5 days

    • 2063 Introduction to ASP.Net - 3 days

    • 2310 Developing Web Application using Visual Studio.Net - 5 days

    • 2524 Building XML Web Services - 2 days

    • 2555 Developing .Net Applications for Windows in VB.Net - 3 days

    • 2565 Developing .Net Applications for Windows in C# - 3 days

    • 2389 Programming with ADO.Net - 3 days

    • 2415 Programming the .Net Framework with VB.Net - 5 days

    • 2349 Programming the .Net Framework with C# - 5 days

So if you are considering any of these, think again. Our lab exercises can be completed in your choice of VB.Net or C#.

Feedback from students indicates that the week spent in a Monash.NET course, combined with the .Net toolset, is recouped from productivity improvements within an average of 4 weeks of development. From there on it, is all net gain.
