Overview:This one day lab and presentation-based seminar provides an overview of the changes and improvements made to Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003. The primary goal of this seminar is to provide the attendees with a hands-on experience with Windows Server 2003. Each attendee will install Windows Server 2003, install Microsoft Active Directory® directory service and configure Group Policy while learning about the Active Directory and DNS improvements. The attendees will also learn about the enhancements made to Internet Information Server 6.0 and gain hands-on experience installing and managing the web server. As well, attendees will learn about, and install and configure Terminal Services, Volume Shadow Copy and the enhanced command line tools. Security, scalability, and reliability improvements will be discussed throughout. By the end of this seminar, students will understand how they can "do more with less" in their job and where Windows Server 2003 will be most relevant to their organization. Loadfest seminars provide the option for attendees to bring their own server. If you intend to bring your own computer the minimum specification would be 256 meg of RAM , PIII or above and at least an 8 gigabyte hard drive. Attendees will be supplied with an evaluation copy of Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, and an evaluation copy of Virtual PC.
