Quill's been everywhere!!

The Quill Consultancy has recently renewed its association with Country Energy, New South Wales' electricity distribution company.

Quill was first involved with Country Energy in 2003 when we were contracted to prepare course materials and conduct training courses in EMS-WASP, a large corporate asset and works management software suite. David Pitt and David Briggs presented training courses all over regional NSW during a fourteen week period.

Last year David Pitt prepared and presented courses for Country Energy's Vegetation Inspectors while David Briggs was involved in a project to implement WASP in the distributor's Zone Substations.

David Pitt has just returned from more than eleven weeks involvement in the Redback project. Redback is the name given to a new software suite that Country Energy has developed to manage, resource and close off work packs for maintenance, internal capital and customer capital works. Work pack information flows from EMS-WASP to Redback and is allocated to a Field Service Centre. Team Leaders are then responsible for scheduling the work and allocating resources.

Quill's role was to prepare training manuals and computer-based training materials and to conduct the training courses. We were chosen because of our knowledge of EMS-WASP and the business processes that support it, and because of our understanding of Country Energy's business organisation and corporate culture.

The project involved a lot of travel for David as the courses were conducted in numerous locations throughout NSW, including Queanbeyan, Albury, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, Grafton and Broken Hill.
