The Quill Newsletter - No 1/ 2006

Welcome to 2006

The staff at The Quill Consultancy would like to wish you well for the new year.

We hope this newsletter continues to be of use to you; we will continue to use it to publish our training course schedule, provide hints and tips about software applications and other information that we think you may find useful. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to see in the newsletter in future.

Staff changes

There have been two major staff changes over the holiday period. David Briggs has left and joined LogicaCMG as a Technical Specialist. David was a partner in The Quill and his experience and expertise will be missed, but he felt he wanted to experience life as an IT professional in a much larger organisation. We have parted on the best of terms and wish David the very best in his future.

The upsides of David’s departure are twofold. Firstly, it has enabled two long serving staff members – Dee Webb and David Pitt – to buy into the business. They will join Greg Smith as shareholders in the business and will form part of the management team at The Quill.

Secondly, it has provided us with the opportunity to entice back into the fold a former staff member in Brett Henderson. Brett has spent the time since he left us working as a database administrator in the UK. This experience, along with his extensive technical knowledge will make him an ideal replacement for David. Brett returns on 20 March 2006. If you have any questions or technical training requirements you can give Greg a call in the interim.

We also farewelled David Norton from the staff on Christmas Eve. David has left us to "follow his heart"; in this case it has taken him all the way to Belgium! David has been replaced by Stephen Joyce who has joined us having graduated with First Class honours from the University of Tasmania. Stephen has settled into his new role with considerable skill and has already assisted a number of clients with development related tasks.
