Add more undos

PowerPoint lets you undo up to 20 actions by default, but you can increase the number of reversible actions all the way up to 150.

  1. From the Tools menu select Options.
  2. Click on the Edit tab.
  3. In the Undo field, type in or click up to the number of actions (from 3 to 150) that you want PowerPoint to track.
  4. Click on OK.

Note: Increasing the number of actions to track may also increase the amount of PC memory the program uses.

Displaying Keyboard Shortcuts in Tool Tips

To see the available keyboard shortcuts for menus, commands, and toolbar buttons:

  1. From the Tools menu select Customize.
  2. Click on the Options tab.
  3. Check .
  4. Click OK.
Using Guides

To turn the guides on:

  1. From the View menu select Grids and Guides.

    The Grid and Guides dialog box is displayed:

     
  2. Check .
  3. Click OK.
    Two guidelines are displayed:

Create more guides:

  1. Hold down the CTRL key and click on the guide and drag up, down, right or left.


    An additional guide is created .

Delete guides

  1. Drag the guides off the edge of the slide.

Use the guides to measure:

  1. Hold down the SHIFT key while you click-and-hold a guide;
    The tool tip for the guide will display 0:00. 
  2. As you move the guide, the distance the guide covers from the beginning of the drag will be displayed in the units of your ruler.
