The Quill Consultancy is currently investigating the possibility of conducting ITIL training here in Hobart.

We have established a partnership with two organisations who provide ITIL training on the mainland:

ITIL Foundations Course

Tentative Date: Wednesday 12 October to Friday 14 October
Trainer: Marco Cattaneo (click here to view resume).
Cost:  $1650 (ex GST) - $1815 (inc GST)
which includes the course and foundation certificate exam.

A number of organisations over the last couple of years have organised ITIL training in-house to assist their IT groups to develop a better team approach to IT management and to facilitate better communication between business and IT stakeholders. David Briggs attended an ITIL Foundations Course organised by TAFE Tasmania in early 2003 and found it insightful and rewarding, and highlighted the processes that are required for effective IT management.

Many of these organisations may have staff who may have missed these "group" training opportunities and would like the opportunity to allow existing staff and new staff to have the same exposure to the ITIL model of IT management.

Some key benefits from ITIL training include:

  • fosters a common language of ITIL within IT service management
  • builds acceptance of the need for improved processes and business alignment
  • helps build a service culture
  • builds participants’ confidence in suggesting improvements
  • gives an opportunity for professional development through certification
  • helps everyone in IT service delivery see the "big picture

Depending on feedback and response to this training offering it is hoped that more advanced ITIL training courses can be offered in the future.

Please indicate your level of interest (both positive and negative) for this particular training as well as ITIL training in general by responding to this e-mail.

As we are assessing demand a positive response to this particular course does not commit you.

We will contact interested people at a later stage, if there are sufficient numbers to make the Foundation course viable.
